Kayak, Paddleboarding, Sailing: Watersports in Perros-Guirec

The Pink Granite Coast can also be discovered from the water. Seen from the sea, the coastline looks completely different: the rocks appear enormous, coves that are inaccessible on foot come into view, and you might even spot seals or seabirds along the way. Here are the main ways to enjoy it in Perros-Guirec.

Guided kayaking excursions

The Perros-Guirec watersports centre, on Trestraou beach, runs sea kayaking excursions along the Pink Granite Coast, led by a qualified instructor. Trips last around 2 hours or 3.5 hours, and equipment is provided. They’re open to anyone aged 16 and over, no experience needed, though a good level of fitness is required.

Kayak and paddleboard hire

In Ploumanac’h, a family-run outfit has been hiring out kayaks (seating 1 to 4 people) and paddleboards since 2002. Children are welcome, as long as they’re accompanied by an adult on the water. It’s the ideal option for an hour or two of independent exploring in the Ploumanac’h cove.

Sailing

The Trestraou watersports centre offers courses and outings, including a sail out to the Sept-Îles archipelago. Perros-Guirec bay is a wonderful stretch of water for learning to sail.

Longe-côte

Still not widely known, longe-côte involves walking through the water, in small groups, along the beach. The watersports centre provides wetsuits and aqua shoes, and sessions last around 2 hours. It’s a gentle, accessible activity that’s surprisingly good exercise.

Surfing

Trestraou beach is also home to a surf school, depending on swell conditions.

Recovering afterwards

After a day on the water, there’s nothing like the hot tub at L’Anse Bleue, overlooking the bay. Discover the accommodation and our availability.
